NEO: FLOR bling!

Getting Closer!
My Never Enough Orange Sewing studio has tiled floors, which, to me, aren't ideal for wanting to lay out fabric and patterns because then my fabric gets soiled from the little feet that leave trails of the outside world on the inside.  So, I wanted something in there more seamstress friendly.
I've dealt with this issue before in our front entranceway and our peach faux marble (bleck!) tiles.  We bought some FLOR carpet tiles that we had used as a living room rug for quite some time.  I cut them out and laid them down for an instant floor refresh.  The great thing about FLOR tiles is they are so fun to rearrange!  Sometimes we'd use just the colored ones, sometimes we would make different shapes and designs, all in a matter of minutes.

So, I knew what I wanted on my NEO Sewing Studio floor.  Just looking through their catalog is inspiring, not for the carpet only, but for the simplicity and beauty with which they create a living space. I felt spoiled just looking at the color choice.  You name it, they have it.  Want a pattern?  Check.  Want a thicker loft?  Check.  Want something suitable for high traffic?  Check.
When my FLOR box came, I whipped it open and pulled those beauties out: instant love!
On the back there is a "directional arrow" to make sure you install your carpets with a correct grain.  I picked the two shades of orange from the Toy Poodle line, but you can even mix and match the lines for a custom look.  You can also "compare" the different FLOR lines online with a few clicks of the mouse.
Installing, especially if you're using the tiles as a floating rug, is easier than your child's giant piece puzzle.  You take a sticker they provide you with and attach it to each intersection of tile.
Then you add one to the edge where each tile meets another and that's it!  I had mine together in about 6.75 minutes and children twirling about on it in no time flat with ooh's and ahh's from all my baby dills.
Pearl is demonstrating the softness of it with Whinny.  Or is it Whitey?  I can never keep track ;)
Then she decided it was so soft and comfortable that she just snuggled down,
to take a little nap.
Sometimes I just go in there barefoot to stand and smile at the fun, bright pop of cheeriness it gives the room.
The two different oranges pull together all the hues I've infused in the room.
Love it!  (and her, of course :)

Fabric Giveaway from RuffleFabric.com--Closed

The winner of the fabric is Em!  Congratulations and enjoy that fabric!

* * *
Shout if you don't need any more fabric!  **chirp chirp**  That's what I thought.  Of course we can always use more fabric.   And no, it's not an illness.
For the giveaway today, you get to choose a yard of ANY fabric from RuffleFabric.com!  Your lucky day?  You betcha!  Have you been there recently?  They've got a whole slew of new fabrics and elastic in that I simply can't decide what I need next.  Hop on over there and see for yourself.
I know it's not ruffled, but you can make ruffles out of it ;o, their Rolled and Twisted "Wood Grain" fabric that I used for this particular tutorial.  I especially love a fabric where I have a hard time deciding which side I want to use as the right side.  This is one of those.

To be entered to win a yard of YOUR choice of fabric:
  • Take a peek and come back to tell me what you would choose...and maybe how you would use it?  (yes, just looking at and touching it counts as a way to use it in case you wondered).
  • Leave me your email address if it is not linked to your profile...PLEASE.
  • Open to the US and Canada residents.
  • You have 24 hours to decide (until Tuesday morning)...get goin'!

Bodycology Review and Giveaway!--CLOSED

I'm not very good at taking the time to pamper myself.  I honestly don't remember the last time I got a hair cut.  I think it was last year some time, but it could have been even longer than that.  Terrible, I know.  Pedicures?  I can count those on one hand.  Never had a wax of any sort.  You get the point.  I am, however, very particular about moisturizers, so when the opportunity arose to review bodycology's new rich&creamy Body Wash and Lotion, I knew I could give an honest and blunt review.  I have a whole collection of moisturizers under my sink to prove my adeptness at this one ;)

The other day after our mega-walk, I promised to rub every one of these feet with lotion.  They mostly giggled and squirmed, since they're not used to my firm rubs, but I have to say, bodycology rich&creamy Lotion is a good massage Lotion.  Although it states "creamy", it is a true Lotion and not a cream.

It absorbs quickly and nicely and I didn't find the need to reapply, other than to my hands which are washed frequently and need extra Lotion.  There is no greasy after-slip :) My only qualm was the scent.  I prefer a non-scented lotion or something light like lemon, but as I looked online at their website, I found that the above sample I received is just one of many scents.  In fact, you can shop by scent if you prefer.
Even if you are not a pamper-er, this is a great Lotion to have around for your everyday use, after showers, during the day, and whenever.  I am hosting a giveaway for a gift basket ($100 value) for one of my beautiful readers!

Hi-Tec C--CLOSED

I was not paid for this post, and all reviews on this blog are 100% my honest opinion wether or not I am compensated.

I am a strong believer that using the right tools makes for a more satisfying experience and result.
I love quality, and there are few things that I will just "settle" for.  It may mean that I have less, but at least what I do buy lasts.
Pens are no exception.  And I have my favorite [Hi-Tec C's] that I have mentioned here before, but I get to give away a full set of them to one of you!
Even if you buy just one or two to tuck in your purse, with your journal, or next to your favorite stationary, you will enjoy it every time you take that cap off.
You are asking me where you can get yours?  The Tokyo Pen Shop, which is like a candy store for those who love pens, carries 39 colors.  Thirty-nine! I prefer size .4, but they carry .3 and .5 as well.

You can take advantage of their free shipping by getting $25 worth of items, you could combine an order with a friend or two if you only want a few pens.
•All you need to do is leave a comment on this post-is there a favorite "tool" you obsess over?
•If your email address isn't linked to your profile, leave that as well.
•If you are unable to post a comment, shoot me an email and I'll lovingly add you to the drawing.
•Open until July 5th, 11:59 EST. Closed
